Mark graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1990 and accepted a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps, where he was trained in tactical radio, computer, and networking systems. He served on active duty until May 1994 as a Data Systems Officer, responsible for PC and Network planning, support and training. After leaving active duty, he worked as a Systems Engineer for both IBM and National Technology group before founding SyTec. He serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Marine Corps Reserve, his current duty assignment is with the 4th Marine Logistics Group (FWD) based at Camp Lejeune. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, serving as a Company Commander with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force during 2003. Mark lives in Apex, NC with his wife Elizabeth and their three children.

Sam graduated from North Carolina State University in 1991 with degrees in accounting and business management. Sam worked as a certified public accountant with Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, then Cobb & Brown. While serving as a certified public accountant, Sam also earned designations as a certified management accountant, certified internal auditor, and certified financial planner. Sam lives in Raleigh, NC with his three children.
